Some items I need to get for truck camping season

Got a few things in the amazon cart that would be a good move to reduce my overall footprint for truck camping this year.

background - using a kodiak canvas truck tent along with .a DECKED drawer system which means I got two 150L drawers that I can pack. One of them takes up the tent & coleman stove. The other is mostly empty but two items I used last season ate up all the space, so I wanted more compact solutions.

  1. Klymit V lux sleeping pad
  2. compact camping chair, would like a helinox one chair XL, but I'll have find an alternative on amazon cause it is too expensive.

I'm keeping an Idea list for those who are interested in seeing what makes up my truck camping rig.

  • Did a quick overnight up in Tatamagouche area and had a wonderful 8mm of rain when I setup and until bedtime. Here are a few things...

    1. I had bought a whisper air mattress last season and wanted to give it a try. It packs small (about size of a nalgene bottle) but it is just not wide enough. Great for side sleeping, but forget about laying on your back. I'm going to stick with my old thermarest basecamp xl sleeping pad. Also the r-value on that whisper air is a bit low even with 13C overnight temps.
    2. The tent was a bit more difficult to setup i the rain. it got a bit heavy and I didn't have it properly aligned, but it was still water tight even with the backrack installed on the truck. The hacks I came up with worked great.
